Notes Relating to Event Suitability:

Plan an elegant event in the largest pillar-free hotel ballroom in Sydney, our own Grand Ballroom. It can accommodate 1,000 guests for a banquet style dinner or 1,400 theatre style and can be divided into four sections. Make a spectacular entrance by coming down the longest escalator in any hotel in the southern hemisphere, surrounded by cascading water on black granite. At the bottom of the escalator, a pre-function area provides the entrance to one of the most sophisticated sound, lighting, and video systems available.

Steeped in tradition, our Heritage Ballroom was once the site of the first public telephone exchange in Australia, installed in the GPO in 1882. This spectacular Victorian room with an 11-metre dome ceiling is capable of entertaining up to 300 people theatre style or to 260 people for a banquet dinner or wedding.

Our catering team will be delighted to assist with all of your wedding requirements. They will instinctively and thoughtfully respond to your needs on a personal level, leaving you feeling energised and relaxed and able to fully enjoy your perfect day. With inspiring details and delightful cuisine, every sight, sound, and flavour of a Westin Wedding is carefully selected to reflect your individuality.

For the smaller meeting or breakout groups, our Heritage Conference Centre is the perfect choice. All eight of our specialised meeting rooms feature natural light and built-in whiteboards and storage. The Heritage Executive Boardroom along with five of the six specialised meeting rooms include the same built-in audiovisual capabilities of the ballrooms including MATV, telephone and ISDN lines, and computer LAN outlets.

Asia Pacific’s premier event staging services provider, Staging Connections is our in-house partner at The Westin Sydney. Working with you to develop innovative and unique solutions, we deliver highly professional events including conferences, product launches, gala events, incentives, media launches, and corporate functions. All of our guest rooms are oversized and feature expansive bathrooms with separate rainforest showers and deep soaking tubs as well as state-of-the-art technology including a BOSE sound system and 37” flat-screen television.
