Wrest Point Hotel & Convention Centre is situated on absolute waterfront on the banks of the Derwent River in the yachting hub of Sandy Bay. Wrest Point Hotel & Convention Centre offers 15 function rooms featuring a tiered auditorium catering for 600 delegates, the Tasman Room accommodating 1000, exhibition space for 90 booths and breakout rooms for smaller groups. Catering possibilities include casual barbecues on the riverbank lawns, lavish banquets for 500 or private boat charters departing from Wrest Point’s private jetty.

With a variety of accommodation categories ranging from 3.5 to 4.5 star, Wrest Point provides the ideal solution for all residential conventions and incentives. The 4.5 star  Suites and Tower Rooms offer sweeping views of the Derwent River, scenic Hobart or Mt Wellington. The Water Edge rooms are four-star quality with stunning views down the river while the fully refurbished 3.5 star Motor Inn rooms provide comfortable style at affordable rates.

Convention Facilities

Wrest Point provides the infrastructure, technical equipment and most importantly the expertise to make every event an outstanding success. Recent major developments reinforce Wrest Point’s position as one of Australia’s premier convention venues with 15 meeting rooms catering for two to 1600 delegates, including an auditorium, boardrooms and exhibition venues. Many rooms feature inbuilt equipment and the high ceilings in larger rooms allow for stunning themes. The largest room - the Tasman Room - can accommodate up to 1000 delegates theatre style, has full theatre stage, ceiling height in excess of seven metres, a press gallery, Green Room and a 2.5 tonne hydraulic lift.

All this makes Wrest Point a versatile venue for conventions, incentives, meetings, trade shows and exhibitions.

The main rooms feature state-of-the-art in built equipment including screens, data-projectors & sound systems.

To compliment the state-of-the-art equipment, Wrest Point employs professional audio-visual technicians offering personalised service and expert technical advice for your event.

Wrest Point can provide an in-house exhibition shell scheme with up to 60 trade booths, and a full exhibition coordination service is available to all clients.

A selection of exhibition areas are easily accessible, even for heavy equipment. Most feature natural lighting and stunning water views. The Tasman Room also features a hydraulic lift to enable access of large equipment, including motor vehicles into this main flat floor auditorium.

Notes Relating to Venue Capacities:

Multi purpose auditorium with theatre style stage and flat floor. The Tasman Room can be configured as three separate meeting rooms. When combined with the Auditorium, it provides seating for 1600. Comprehensive sound and lighting facilities available with two large twin screens on either side of the stage. Wrest Point has its own AV technicians on staff. A hydraulic lift allows access for large and heavy equipment including motor vehicles
