Our premium function space, the Main Room, is now available for Cocktail Style and Dinner Events every Saturday evening.
Cocktail Style Events in the Main Room:
Capacity: 200 – 700 guests
The combined multi-level aspect of this space allows for cocktail parties to be combined with entertainment and ample space for a large dance floor, lounge areas and private smoking area.
A range of entertainment options can be accommodated within the space. Large bands, DJ’s or stage shows can all be viewed from within the space and accommodated with our complimentary AV inclusions (listed below)
A range of cocktail style finger food options are available within any price range. Bar tabs and beverage packages are also catered for. The space boasts a large bar allowing guests to be served quickly by our friendly staff.
Seated Dinner Events in the Main Room
Capacity: 200 guests
The space combines a setting perfect for dinner style events with the option of accommodating various entertainment and post dinner socializing. The top bar area is ideal for canapés on arrival or pre-dinner. In the past, we have held a number of Corporate Dinners, Social Club Events, Sports Awards Dinners and Dinner/ Dance style events with great success.
A menu can be tailored to any budget or preference and a range of options are available to suit all tastes. Each events catering is of an impeccable standard and served by our friendly, professional staff. Our extensive wine lists offer a wide selection and our beverage packages are available at a very competitive price. Bar tabs and guests purchasing drinks from our bar area during the evening is also a great option.

From Karaoke on Friday nights to a meeting place for corporate lunches to being the venue of choice to some of the biggest night club events on the Melbourne calendar regularly featuring international acts from all around the world.
Our venue is renowned for providing the most extensive complimentary AV inclusions with the use of exclusive function spaces.
The Main Room boasts eight suspended 42 inch plasma TV’s available for displaying presentations, music videos and photos to add a personal touch to any event. A microphone is provided for any speeches throughout the evening along with any staging requirements, whether it is stage required for a 10 piece band or a small presentation for a corporate dinner, we are happy to provide this to suit each private functions requirement. A fully equipped DJ console is provided complimentary along with state of the art lighting and sound.

The Colonial Hotel combines the charm and comfort of a traditional hotel with a hint of the Mediterranean. Classic high ceilings, white stucco walls, French imported chandeliers and an extravagant spiraling staircase are just some of the features associated with this building in excess of 150 years.
