Here is one not to be missed according to those in the know at conference centres in Sydney.

The first Test of the Castrol EDGE Rugby Championship and Bledisloe Cup series will be played at ANZ Stadium, Homebush, on Saturday August 18 with kick off at 8pm. Be there for the face-off between arch rivals the Qantas Wallabies and All Blacks.  The Qantas Wallabies were the victors in the last match on Australian soil between the two Rugby heavyweights taking out the Castrol EDGE Tri Nations title last year, so expect a desperation-fuelled tussle from the trophy hungry All Blacks.

From Friday 10 August sports fans can enjoy a series of events that will build the tension and flame the passion set to explode on the night of August 18 when these two super powers of World Rugby re-ignite the rivalry.

The Bledisloe Cup Festival will give fans the opportunity to meet and greet some of the game’s iconic legends and learn more about the history of the Cup.  You will also have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the 9kg piece of silverware that symbolises this fiercely fought battle for Rugby supremacy.

The celebration of  trans-Tasman Rugby domination continues at the The Museum of Sydney with the “ Rivals in Rugby, Brothers in War”  exhibition featuring Bledisloe Cup memorabilia highlighting the intense rivalry between the Wallabies and All Blacks and the contribution Rugby players from both countries made during World War II. Admission to the exhibition is free. So take the advice of Sydney conference venues and book your ticket through www.ticketek.com.au today!

An extraordinary tale of achieving against the odds is explored in the exhibition ‘Desert Psychedelic: Jimmy Pike’  The work of this wonderful indigenous artist is on display at Fremantle Prison until the 19th August 2012 and Perth conference venues would encourage you to get along to this special event.

Jimmy Pike was sentenced to life imprisonment in 1981 and began serving time in Fremantle Prison where he began taking the art classes on offer.  It was not long before the prison’s art teachers recognised his extraordinary eye for colour and design. No one could have guessed that a global design icon would result, but it was from this unorthodox beginning that the Desert Designs brand was born.

Pike was born in the Great Sandy Desert around 1940, living a traditional Walmajarri life for most of his childhood . As an adult, his work captured the explosive beauty of the harsh desert landscape with bold forms and psychedelic colours.  His collaboration with Desert Designs realised a beautiful union of Indigenous art, craft and commercial design.

Jimmy Pike passed away in 2002 but left a lasting legacy of vivid paintings and prints, brilliant textile designs and dynamic stories and illustrations. This significant exhibition follows his journey and offers an opportunity to celebrate his groundbreaking achievements.  The focus on textiles acknowledges Jimmy Pike as one of the great Australian textile designers of the 20th Century.

Conference centres in Perth can assist you with additional information on this not -to -be –missed event, but you will need to be quick as the exhibition finishes soon.

When: Until Sunday, August 19
